Miyah Henderson has just recently completed her Bachelors in Fine Arts in Commercial Dance with a Creative Writing minor at Pace University under the direction of Rhonda Miller. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Miyah was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and considers this home. She has experience both as a performer and as a choreographer. At the young age of four, she began to fall in love with the art of dance. She has trained in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet, and Contemporary styles. As a performer, Miyah has worked alongside Justin Giles in his contemporary company SoulEscape. She has also recently performed as a dancer in Chad McCall’s newest show “Mutual Coordinates”. Beyond being a dancer, Miyah is also an aspiring choreographer. She choreographed an original work for the 2019 Young Choreographer’s Festival directed by Emily Bufferd, and continues to showcase her work by choreographing competition routines throughout the Southeast region.

When she is not dancing, Miyah uses writing as another creative outlet. She started a personal blog that dives into her recovery after ACL reconstruction surgery, as well as, wrote ten original pieces of work as a collaboration for an Honor’s Thesis presented at Pace University by her fellow classmates. Miyah hopes to continue her writing and one day publish a children’s book.
